Every Wednesday until Christmas I’ll be posting a gift guide with shopping ideas for all of your favorite people. I’m starting off with a guide designed for my favorite little gal.
We try to keep Emma’s play space clean and uncluttered so we decided not to get her any toys this year. (We realized this is probably the last year we’ll get away with that, so might as well take advantage of it while we still can!) We asked family members for board books (we loooove the Pigeon books) and art supplies for her, and we’re giving her the Learning Tower (#1) and made her a personalized mini book of names & faces (#3).
What are you getting for the toddler in your life this Christmas?
We always found large cardboard boxes were the biggest hit!
I think we’re at an in-between stage for cardboard boxes right now… she liked climbing through them when she was a crawler but now isn’t interested in them at all. I think once she realizes she can make cool stuff from them they’ll be interesting to her again.
Those bath appliqués are so cool! ZB would love those.

I also wanted to get her a balance bike. They are so neat! Books on CD are also great…. For those times she wants me to read and I am trying to get dinner on the table or for the long trips home. I have never heard of the pigeon books, they look cute!
We have a learning tower (safety first I think) and the kids LOVE it. So much so that they often push and shove to have the most room
. We also have those bath appliques – it is fun to see if you can throw them and get them to stick to the walls. Also, Mo Willems is one of our FAVORITE writers. We love the “Knuffle Bunny” books – they are Connor’s fave. Kate loves “Leonardo the Terrible Monster”.
These are all great ideas! A Learning Tower is #1 on my list of things to purchase once we’re in a new house where we actually have somewhere to store it when it’s not in use. And we too are huge fans of the Pigeon. Have you happened to read “City Dog, Country Frog”? It’s by Mo Willems too, but illustrated by someone else, so the tone is completely different.
